COVID SAFETY. Updated Thursday 18th March 2021.

*LONDON’s roadmap will start to ease from April 12th therefore I am taking bookings for 1:1 sewing sessions in my Catford Studio from Monday April 12th.

My commission backlog due to Covid restrictions mean that Bespoke bookings are closed until Monday April 26th.

PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES*

I want to ensure that existing clients and potential new ones feel safe and secure in the knowledge that I am doing everything I can to ensure your safety. I have outlined salient points related to current government guidelines and a timeline below but if you have any hesitation or queries please get in touch

  • I have now moved to a bigger studio space (next door to my old one. WIN!) This has enabled me to observe social distancing rules much more easily. More space for dance breaks too! Woop!

  • My new studio is Catford Dek, Old Town Hall, Catford, Lewisham in South East London (see map below). I usually walk the twenty five minutes from my home. I sometimes walk home too unless I’m knackered or it’s chucking it down in which case I get one bus.

  • I have a ProAct no Contact Forehead Thermometre available to use with your permission should we feel the need for extra peace of mind.

  • My premises are situated on the fourth floor of the building. There are two lifts available for one person to use (each) at a time. I will follow you up in the next lift or use the stairs.

  • The bathroom is situated at the top of the stairs on the 4th floor as you exit the lift. Please use this time to wash your hands and I will be outside in the corridor when you emerge. I wash my hands as soon as I arrive at my studio and regularly throughout the day. Only one person is permitted into the bathroom at a time.

  • My open plan studio space is cleaned by myself every day that I am in attendance. No one else enters my space unless I invite them. There is space to social distance comfortably.

  • I use Virusol Biocidal Skin and surface spray on my hands and equipment.

  • The window of my studio and the studio opposite remain open to create a cross draft. This does not affect the main temperature of the room so there’s no need to worry about becoming cold.

CLIENT CONSULTATIONS AND FITTINGS.

  • The bulk of the consultation is a chat between us. These are conducted seated a minimum of 6ft apart within my new studio space.

  • For the fitting and measurement part I will wear a face cover or a shield as per new government guidelines. I will ask you to wear your own too. Taking client measurements will require touch. I sanitise my hands and wear a Face cover as mentioned. I move away between measurements to maintain safety and to record the figures.

  • Measuring for fittings takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes depending on the garment design. You will be asked to remove bulky clothing behind a screen. All measurements will take place with discretion behind the screen.

  • I spray my hands with Virusol before I begin. Where possible I will avoid skin to skin contact but be aware that this may not always be convenient.

PRIVATE SEWING LESSONS.

  • Student Sewing classes have been extended by an extra 20 minutes to allow for more frequent hand washing breaks. During any sewing demonstration I will ask you to observe from a clear distance. I will then step away when you are sewing to observe and give guidance as necessary.

  • If you develop symptoms or become ill do NOT attend a fitting or class. Contact me to rearrange your session. Similarly I will extend the same procedure to you if I become unwell.

I will amend my procedures as I become more familiar and ease as necessary and according to advice. I am also very open to receiving feedback so that I can deliver the best and safest experience for us both. I hope that you will bear with me whilst I make adjustments.

Thank you for reading this.

Be well and I look forward to welcoming you to this new chapter soon.
